Before the official production our group had a practice run
of the TV show to ensure that the recorded show ran smoothly without any errors
or complications. The show ran for eighteen minutes with the thirty second add
breaks timed in. The equipment we had used was three cameras one in the middle
of the studio and two on either side, although we only has two camera men the
floor manager had made sure that the middle camera was recording and was
focused. We had tables and chairs for the contestants and setting up the sound
which took 15 minutes to do.
In my
roles as Production manager I had made sure that all of the cast knew what they had to do
and which order the games were in as well as making sure that they had a
microphone, iPad and iPad stand on the tables. I also had to make
sure that the host knew which order everything was in, that he had a
microphone and he had his question card in his hand. As well as being a PM I
was also in charge of the TelePrompTer making sure that the script
was correct and ensuring that the speed was at a pace that the host could read
it.
During the
post production the recorded sound was not correct therefore we had to use the
practice clips for sound and the official footage for the camera edits and the
better quality footage adding the images and extra clips to the video.
From this
production I have learned about the various roles needed to create a good
production team and final product, although there was some complications they
were looked over and settled during this production.
