Unit 23:Multi-cam studio diary

Dear Diary,

The final run went well each group member worked well in their role. Those who participated in the game show knew what they had to do after I had answered the questions they had and the same for the host. I helped the camera crew set up and set the stage up for the contestants which took us 15 minutes to set up and after we finished it looks us 15 minutes to pack everything away.

This was our final run through before the show was being recorded properly, which went extremely well and was organised. we had to allocate our individual roles so that everyone knew what they had to do within the group. we all performed very well and worked at a professional standard. Getting the studio set up for out show took 15 minutes and all the paperwork that was needed was ready and given to those who needed it.

even though my only job was PM I had set up the equipment, got the set ready and I had set up the TelePrompTer and I was in charge of moving it while the host was reading from it.

Once we ran through our show in the show, we had a little meeting about what we can change and improve. We discussed issues and correction for the next run through.
Issues:

• 4th Ipad Vision Mix, not to click off the app so it can be saved

• Teleprompter up and running to practise with - Host to learn his parts also

• Cameramen need to study shot list

• Sound and Lighting needs to be improved 

Feedback:

• Sound - separate sound, get a jingle 

• Get footage from Ipad/Saved 

• Handheld camera to get shots of guests on their game and ipad.

• The set like the tables needs to be back so it's all black at the back.

Dear Diary 

(09/01/17)

As a class we learnt how to setup the monitors (IPads) syncing them by a network server and once they were all connected we all had a practise. I had a go on the actually filming so learning the transition. The format on the app was clear and easy to use so I understood all the features and elements quickly. Our cameramen were able to play around for the software, which gained them more knowledge about it. In order to go live you have to tap to preview then double tap to select it.

Dear Diary,

Today was our first day in the studio and I was setting up the camera equipment and the set. As the PM I was discussing the show and the script to the cast so that they would know what they had to do and how to play each game and what to say, once they were all seated. We had a few problems but they had been resolved.

This was our first camera set up, and it included 3 IPads and 3 tripods.Tom and Tyler showed us the apps and the features that it had such as the fades and discover. This app allowed the Ipads and the Visual Mixer to be connected during filming.

This allowed me to have more knowledge about the app as it was new to us, although I will not be using this equipment due to my job role I still learned about it just in case I needed to take over if someone was not in

Dear Diary,


today was the dead line and some of the work was uploaded to peoples blogs and shared to the google drive account that I had created, but not all of the work was uploaded due to not being complete so we had missed the deadline and that is an issue that everyone who worked independently will be trying to work harder for. overall no one is to blame for the missing deadline and the pre-production will be completed soon

Today as a group we had to allocated the team individual roles and then discussed more in detail about the task set for each roles taking into consideration cross overs.

I took the role of primary research and script writer

unit:23 Multi- camera techniques brief- studio diary (01/11/17)

Dear diary,


Today our class has selected the two multi-cam shows that we were going to produce and them our teacher split the class up into two groups and we were given one of the shows to produce. The TV show that my group was given was social challenge, which is a game show based on social media.


during our production meeting we decided on what pre-production tasks we wanted to complete, I had chosen to write the script and to do primary research.
