Jeffree star costmetics.com

Jeffree star is an American singer-songwriter, make-up artist, fashion designer and model from orange county, California.

The target audience for the website are those who like make-up or who just like Jeffree star. The occupation of the target audiences ranges from students to those who work full time, both male and female due to Jeffree star being a gender fluid person.

Selection of content

Image

On the homepage of the website there is an image of Jeffree star and many MUA. This is to promote the recent collaboration they have done, if the image is clicked on it takes the viewer to the product.

Throughout the website there are various images such as the products and the models who are wearing the products as well as Jeffree star. The purpose of the images are to illustrate a visual interest to the audience.

Colour

The colour scheme for the website is hot pink, gold and white. These colours make the website look colourful yet elegant. The hot pink is the signature colour for Jeffree as it is his favourite colour, this also gives the website a personal touch. The pink and gold is also the colours of the make-up packaging which is known to the audience.

Words

The words that stand out are the names of the products “Beauty Killer” and “Lip Ammunition” these names stand out to the audience and they are memorable due to its uniqueness.

Fonts

There are two fonts that are used for this website. The font for the navigation bar and sign in link are the same font but the website logo has a different font, this is to make the logo stand out.

Clips

There are no clips on the homepage but in the navigation bar there is a button called media which is linked to Jeffree stars YouTube page, this allows the audience to watch his videos.

Construction of content

The layout of the website is simple but effective because it is organised and categorised. An example of this is the shop link is it sectioned into the make-up collaborations, lips which is then categorised into the three lips products and fashion is the last category. This makes the website clearer and easier for the audience to navigate. The only caption is Jeffree stars Instagram name is placed at the bottom of the “about me page”, this will allow the viewers to follow him. The narrative for this website is the image on each page with the models wearing the brands lipstick allowing the audience to have visual aids to see what the lip colours look like with other skin tones.

Codes and conventions

The language that is used is very simple and easy to understand, the visuals are used to add more information to the audience and helps them visualise the products.

Modes of address

Modes of address is how the text speaks to the audience and involves them. There is not a lot of text used on the website, the “about me” page is used to introduce Jeffree star to his audience. The paragraph is a casual introduction to who Jeffree is as though he is directly talking to the audience this will make them feel more connected to Jeffree.

unit 23:multi-cam production evaluation

Before the official production our group had a practice run of the TV show to ensure that the recorded show ran smoothly without any errors or complications. The show ran for eighteen minutes with the thirty second add breaks timed in. The equipment we had used was three cameras one in the middle of the studio and two on either side, although we only has two camera men the floor manager had made sure that the middle camera was recording and was focused. We had tables and chairs for the contestants and setting up the sound which took 15 minutes to do.

In my roles as Production manager I had made sure that all of the cast knew what they had to do and which order the games were in as well as making sure that they had a microphone, iPad and iPad stand on the tables. I also had to make sure that the host knew which order everything was in, that he had a microphone and he had his question card in his hand. As well as being a PM I was also in charge of the TelePrompTer making sure that the script was correct and ensuring that the speed was at a pace that the host could read it.

During the post production the recorded sound was not correct therefore we had to use the practice clips for sound and the official footage for the camera edits and the better quality footage adding the images and extra clips to the video.

From this production I have learned about the various roles needed to create a good production team and final product, although there was some complications they were looked over and settled during this production.

Unit 23: multi-cam production studio diary/ meeting report

Once we ran through our show in the show, we had a little meeting about what we can change and improve. We discussed issues and correction for the next run through.
Issues:
4th Ipad Vision Mix, not to click off the app so it can be saved
Teleprompter up and running to practise with - Host to learn his parts also
Cameramen need to study shot list
Sound and Lighting needs to be improved

Feedback:
Sound - separate sound, get a jingle
Get footage from Ipad/Saved
Handheld camera to get shots of guests on their game and ipad.

The set like the tables needs to be back so it's all black at the back.

Unit 23: multi-cam production- studio diary

Dear Diary
(09/01/17)

As a class we learnt how to setup the monitors (IPads) syncing them by a network server and once they were all connected we all had a practise. I had a go on the actually filming so learning the transition. The format on the app was clear and easy to use so I understood all the features and elements quickly. Our cameramen were able to play around for the software, which gained them more knowledge about it. In order to go live you have to tap to preview then double tap to select it.

unit 23: multi-cam production studio diary

Dear Diary,

Today was our first day in the studio and I was setting up the camera equipment and the set. As the PM I was discussing the show and the script to the cast so that they would know what they had to do and how to play each game and what to say, once they were all seated. We had a few problems but they had been resolved.
